Parabolic Louver

Characteristics:
Cells arranged in a square configuration.

Cell walls are parabolic (curved).

Functionality:
Controlled distribution of light

Total reflection of light when using a specular finish (silver or gold).

Eliminates the direct view of the lamp at various angles.

 

Reflection of light

Ideal Applications:
Where light or glare control is required.

Where you do not want to see the light source (lamps).

Characteristics:
Cells arranged in a square configuration

Cell walls are flat/straight

Functionality:
Random and uncontrolled distribution creates a bright area of light.

Diffused or semi-transparent distribution

Ideal Applications:
Areas where the look of a louver is desired, but light control is not important.

Flat sheet of plastic

Usually clear or white with the exception of the mirror panel (not used with lamps).

depending on the pattern of the lens.

Baffles

Characteristics:
A ladder configuration

Cross-blades can be
parabolic or straight.
Usually ordered in 4 foot lengths

Functionality:
Shields the lamp from certain angles, depending on the overall width and blade spacing.

When used in a continuous run (no tee-bar)
It gives the appearance of a single piece

Ideal Applications:
Areas where you have a narrow and straight stretch of open area, such as a hallway or perimeter.
